The impact of Corporate Giving

We are delighted to celebrate a successful year with our Charity of the Year partner, FreeAgent. This collaboration showcases the incredible impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not only on NHS Lothian patients, families and staff but also on FreeAgent employees themselves.

FreeAgent, an accounting software company that puts its customers first, chose to support our Fighting Against Cancer Edinburgh (FACE) fund which helps provide the little things that make a big difference to those affected by cancer. It has been a fantastic year of shared purpose, collaboration and positive impact.

Veronika Szentesi, Senior People Assistant, shared what the partnership meant to the team:

Our team appreciated the Charity’s active engagement with our employees and initiatives. The connection, through initiatives like Town Halls and visits from some of the FACE volunteers, made the collaboration feel personal and impactful.”

The partnership has been mutually beneficial. FreeAgent employees have become more aware of the work of local charities and have also had the opportunity to get hands-on and volunteer, which helped deepen their connection to our cause. Veronika noted that the partnership has increased morale and has given their employees “a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing their efforts have made a tangible difference.”

One particularly memorable event saw volunteers from FreeAgent transform the FACE Garden at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital. “It was amazing to see colleagues from different departments come together and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The team expressed how rewarding it was to see the immediate impact of their efforts,” shared Veronika.

For FreeAgent, the partnership was a natural fit with their sustainability goals and commitment to social responsibility, particularly in fostering community impact. They would encourage other businesses to follow suit and explore similar collaborations. “The mutual benefits of supporting a cause and strengthening internal culture cannot be overstated.” We completely agree!
