Gift Aid

Make your gift go further

Thank you for your donations and support.

Did you know you can make your donation to NHS Lothian Charity worth 25% more with a simple Gift Aid declaration at no extra cost to you?

As a registered charity, we can claim the tax back from HMRC, thanks to the government’s Gift Aid scheme.

How it works

If you currently pay tax in the UK, we can claim back 25 pence for every £1 that you donate if you complete our Gift Aid Declaration below. For example, a donation of £30 could be worth £37.50 to us (at no extra cost to you) by just filling in a form.

  • We can claim Gift Aid on any donation you have made in the last four years and any you will make in future. Donating with Gift Aid does not affect your tax status.
  • We can only claim Gift Aid on donations made personally by individuals who currently pay tax in the UK, and not on behalf of another individual or group, or from a collection.

If you choose to donate online or through our JustGiving page, you will be offered a Gift Aid declaration as part of this process.

If you would prefer to complete a paper copy of the form, just let us know and we can post a copy out to you to return in our postage paid envelope.

Please notify us if you want to cancel your declaration, change your name or full home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your Income or Capital Gains.

If you are a higher rate tax payer you can claim personal tax relief via a Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and customs to adjust your tax code.

Thank you for your donations and support and for helping make healthcare better for everyone.
